I have found that if I cut up the fruit, ie. peel the apple and cut it up or cut up watermelon/rockmelon, oranges, etc and put it in a zip lock bag, the kids will always eat it. The easier I make it, the easier it is to eat !

Dear Uncle Toby's, My Mum and I came up with a great school lunch box idea to add a bit of variety to recess snax. Gather up a range of Uncle Toby's products, say Meusli bars (both crunchy and chewy), and instead of having a single whole bar in your lunch, Mum helps me cut the blocks into small bite-size fingers, and I take a bunch of different tastes to school each day. Yummo. Mum stores the remainder in an air-tight container to keep 'em fresh. Thank you Uncle Toby's for the great taste and 'good for me' food. William

I would always put 2 drinks in the childrens lunchboxes a semi frozen one and a frozen drink wrapped in a cloth. this would not only provid them with a cool drink during the day in the summer months but keep their sandwiches cool. By the end of school time, they also had a cold drink after the frozen one had defrosted. In the winter, a small flask filled with their favourite soup helped to fill the empty and give them something warm to drink at either morning break or lunchtime.......

When I was a child my mum would make up a mix of rasins, sultana's, currents and nuts in a little bag for me to take to school - I did the same when my own children were going to school - these were treats then and they loved them.
